Netflix will premiere a four-part docuseries on Sean “Diddy” Combs on 2 December, giving fans a deep dive into the music mogul’s rise, successes, and controversies. The series, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, is executive produced by Combs’ longtime rival, rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The docuseries traces Combs’ career from founding Bad Boy Records, which launched stars like The Notorious B.I.G. and Danity Kane, to the scandals and legal challenges that have followed him. Netflix promises “explosive, never-before-seen material,” including interviews with people who were once close to Combs, though the participants remain undisclosed.

Alex Stapleton, an Emmy-winning director on the project, said the documentary is more than a personal portrait. “It’s a mirror,” Stapleton explained. “It reflects us as the public and what it says about the way we place our celebrities on pedestals.”

Jackson first announced the series in December 2024. On Tuesday, he shared a poster on Instagram alongside his 2007 hit I Get Money, which mentions Combs. “They said I was capping, 🤷 what happened?” he wrote.

Legal controversies are a central focus. In July, a federal jury convicted Combs on two counts of transporting women across state lines for prostitution after a two-month trial. Prosecutors alleged that he coerced ex-girlfriends into sexual acts and operated a criminal enterprise. Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which carried potential life sentences.

In October, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison and is scheduled for release in May 2028. Combs is appealing his convictions and is enrolled in a prison sobriety programme, which could reduce his sentence.

For Kenyan viewers, the docuseries will be available for streaming on Netflix Kenya starting 2 December at 12:00 a.m. EAT. Fans can watch all four episodes online via the Netflix app or website, with subtitles and options for mobile streaming.

The series is expected to generate conversations about celebrity culture, accountability, and the blurred line between fame and infamy, revisiting Combs’ achievements, relationships, and legal battles.
