Geoffrey Mosiria, newly appointed Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service in Nairobi City County, began his tenure with unannounced inspections across county health facilities, exposing staff absenteeism and operational gaps.
Mosiria, recently moved from the Environment docket to his new role, toured several hospitals and discovered unmanned stations and missing critical personnel.
In a video widely shared on X, the Chief Officer is seen calling absent staff members directly, questioning their whereabouts, and reminding them of their mandate to serve the public.
Following the visits, Mosiria issued a firm warning, emphasizing that absenteeism would no longer be tolerated under his leadership. On his official X account, he stated:
“To all Nairobi County employees, let us continue to prioritise our clients—the people of Nairobi and other Kenyans who seek our services. These are our bosses, and they deserve respect, dignity, and excellent service. In your day-to-day duties, ensure you make them happy by providing quality, timely, and professional services.”
