Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly criticized the deportation of Martha Karua from Tanzania, urging for increased political tolerance and respect for divergent opinions across East Africa.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new bishop of All Saints Cathedral in Machakos, Musyoka emphasized the importance of regional integration and the free movement of professionals within the East African Community. He highlighted Karua’s mistreatment as a setback to these efforts.
Musyoka also addressed concerns over political intimidation in Kenya, citing instances where leaders like Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya faced threats and arrests. He called upon churches to pray for the nation and stand against what he described as a “yoke of dictatorship.”
Emphasizing the need for unity and justice, Musyoka reaffirmed his commitment to defending human rights and ensuring that every Kenyan enjoys the freedom of expression and association.
