The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the full fixture schedule for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in August. The highly anticipated tournament marks the first time Kenya will host a major CAF competition, and expectations are high for a memorable championship on home soil.
Kenya has been drawn into Group A, a highly competitive pool featuring some of the continent’s top footballing nations: DR Congo, Angola, Morocco, and Zambia. All Group A fixtures will be played in Nairobi, split between Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums. However, all of Kenya’s matches will be held at Kasarani Stadium, offering the Harambee Stars the benefit of consistency and a strong home crowd in familiar surroundings.

Kasarani Stadium will not only host Group A matches but will also be the venue for a quarterfinal clash between the Group A winner and Group B runner-up, as well as the CHAN 2025 final and the official closing ceremony.
With DR Congo and Morocco, both CHAN champions in past editions, joining Angola and Zambia in Group A, Kenya faces a formidable challenge. But playing at home gives Harambee Stars an edge, and fans across the country will be eager to rally behind the team as they seek to reach the knockout stages.
The tournament, which features national teams made up exclusively of home-based players, is also seen as a showcase for emerging talent from domestic leagues. For Kenya, this is a golden opportunity to shine on the continental stage and build lasting football infrastructure, legacy, and pride.
This year’s CHAN is a regional milestone. Co-hosting the competition with Uganda and Tanzania positions East Africa as a rising power in African football development.
