Detectives have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a police officer whose body was discovered in a ditch near the fence of the Lucky Summer police station in Nairobi.
The deceased, identified as Constable Benjamin Bore, was attached to the Kariobangi North Police Station but resided at the Lucky Summer police line. His lifeless body was found on Sunday evening by a neighbour who raised the alarm.
According to police, the body was found inside a drainage culvert, with blood reportedly oozing from the officer’s mouth. Officers who responded to the scene noted that there were no visible external injuries at the time of discovery. The head of the deceased was said to have been in a twisted position, raising concerns that are now part of the official investigation.
The motive and circumstances behind Bore’s death remain unclear. His body has since been moved to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
A team of detectives visited the scene as part of the probe, with preliminary findings expected to be supplemented by the results of the autopsy.
Authorities say they are treating the case with urgency given the sensitive nature of the incident and the officer’s role in law enforcement.
