Germany international Leroy Sané has completed a move to Turkish champions Galatasaray as a free agent, following the expiry of his contract with Bayern Munich.
Galatasaray confirmed the signing on Thursday via an official club statement, announcing: “Our club has reached an agreement with professional football player Leroy Sané. We welcome him to Galatasaray and wish him success in the yellow-red jersey.”
The 28-year-old winger spent four seasons at Bayern Munich, scoring 38 goals in 106 Bundesliga appearances and winning multiple domestic titles, including four league championships and the DFB-Pokal.
The German winger arrives after a strong season with Bayern Munich, where he played 45 matches, scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists. Throughout his career, he has played for Schalke 04, Manchester City, and Bayern, collecting major trophies including four Bundesliga titles, two Premier League championships, a Club World Cup, and a UEFA Super Cup.
Sané’s arrival is seen as a significant boost to Galatasaray’s attacking options ahead of their UEFA Champions League campaign and domestic title defence. The Turkish Super Lig giants have been active in the summer transfer window as they aim to consolidate their dominance at home and improve their performance in Europe.
Galatasaray is expected to unveil the former Manchester City winger to fans over the weekend at Rams Park in Istanbul.
