Atletico Madrid Secures Italy Forward Giacomo Raspadori on Five-Year Deal

Atletico Madrid has officially acquired Italian striker Giacomo Raspadori from Serie A champions Napoli, signing the 25-year-old on a contract extending through 2029. The transfer fee is reported to be approximately €20 million ($23.2 million), according to Spanish media sources.

Raspadori, who contributed six goals during the 2023-24 season in his third year at Napoli after transferring from Sassuolo in 2022, was part of the Napoli squad that clinched the Serie A title in 2023. His arrival at the Metropolitano comes as Atletico Madrid aims to strengthen their squad following a third-place finish in La Liga last season.

Internationally, Raspadori has earned 40 caps for Italy, netting nine goals, and was a member of the team that won the UEFA European Championship in 2021.

In addition to Raspadori, Atletico has bolstered their roster with several notable signings this summer, including winger Alex Baena from Villarreal, defender David Hancko from Feyenoord, and American midfielder Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis, signaling the club’s intent to mount a serious title challenge in the upcoming campaign.
