Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, reaffirming his commitment to the Premier League giants amid transfer speculation.

According to multiple sources close to the club, Fernandes was approached by unnamed Saudi Pro League clubs with the promise of a substantial salary increase and long-term incentives. Despite the financial lure, the Portuguese midfielder made it clear he has no intention of leaving Old Trafford this summer.

The 29-year-old playmaker, who joined United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, has become one of the club’s most influential players both on and off the pitch. Fernandes captained the side through a turbulent 2023/24 season, leading them to FA Cup glory despite struggles in the league.

Focus Remains on United Project

In a recent interview after the FA Cup final, Fernandes hinted at frustrations over the club’s performance but reaffirmed his dedication to seeing the rebuild through. “I want to win more here. I believe in this project,” he said.

United are expected to make key decisions this summer, including managerial direction and squad overhaul. Fernandes is understood to be central to the club’s long-term plans, especially as INEOS Group takes a firmer hand in football operations.

Saudi Interest in European Stars Rising

The Saudi Pro League continues its aggressive push for top-tier European talent. The interest in Fernandes follows similar moves for the likes of Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, and Luka Modrić. However, not all players have been swayed by the astronomical offers.

Fernandes’ decision to stay is seen by many fans as a sign of loyalty and ambition to restore United’s status at the top of English and European football.
