The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially confirmed that the Harambee Starlets will participate in the CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship 2025. The tournament is scheduled to run from June 12th to 22nd in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Kenya will join four other teams — host nation Tanzania, South Sudan, Burundi, and Uganda — in the five-nation regional competition. Organised by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) in partnership with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the championship serves as a crucial preparatory event ahead of the 2025 Africa Women Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to begin in Morocco in July.

Currently, the Harambee Starlets are in Morocco, where they are scheduled to play an international friendly against the Atlas Lionesses in Tangier. This match is part of their comprehensive preparations ahead of the CECAFA tournament and future international fixtures.

FKF’s confirmation of the Starlets’ participation and their ongoing international friendlies highlights the federation’s commitment to providing the national women’s team with quality competitive exposure. This approach aims to enhance the team’s readiness for major continental competitions and improve their performance on the African stage.
