Liverpool celebrated their record-equalling 20th English top-flight title with a jubilant trophy presentation at Anfield on Sunday, marking the first time since 1990 that the Reds lifted the Premier League trophy in front of their home fans.

The final match of the season ended in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, with Mohamed Salah scoring a late equalizer. Despite the draw, the atmosphere remained electric as captain Virgil van Dijk led the team in hoisting the trophy, capping off a dominant season under manager Arne Slot.

The day was particularly emotional for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who made his final appearance for Liverpool before his anticipated move to Real Madrid. The 26-year-old received a heartfelt ovation from the Anfield crowd, a stark contrast to the mixed reactions in previous matches. Visibly moved, Alexander-Arnold expressed his gratitude, stating, “I’ve never felt more loved and cared for than today.”

Former manager Jürgen Klopp was also present to witness the celebrations, having led Liverpool to their previous Premier League title in the 2019/20 season. The 2020 triumph occurred without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making this season’s celebration all the more special.

Mohamed Salah’s goal against Crystal Palace brought his tally to 29 for the season, equaling the Premier League record for most goal involvements in a single season. His contributions were pivotal in securing Liverpool’s title, which they clinched with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on April 27.

The celebrations are set to continue with a city-wide victory parade, expected to draw crowds comparable to Liverpool’s 2019 Champions League celebrations. The day marked a fitting end to a remarkable season, uniting players, past legends, and fans in a shared moment of triumph
