Coach Ndayiragije said they will fight tooth and nail to garnish their trophy cabinet with two major titles

Mara Sugar FC has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Mozzart Bet FKF Cup, setting up a highly anticipated match against defending champions Kenya Police FC. This comes after Mara Sugar’s decisive 2-0 victory over Compel FC in a Round of 16 encounter held at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Forward Noah Jagongo was instrumental in the win, netting both goals for Mara Sugar. He opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on a precise cutback from the right flank. Jagongo sealed the victory in the 82nd minute, skillfully controlling a through-pass before firing home.

The match had been delayed due to a previous incident involving AFC Leopards, whose appeal against expulsion from the tournament was dismissed by the Sports Disputes Tribunal. The tribunal upheld the Football Kenya Federation’s decision to expel Leopards after fan disruptions led to the abandonment of their earlier match against Mara Sugar.

Kenya Police FC, the reigning FKF Cup champions, had been awaiting the outcome of the Mara Sugar vs. Compel FC match to determine their quarterfinal opponent. With Mara Sugar’s advancement, the stage is set for a compelling quarterfinal showdown between the two sides.

The upcoming quarterfinal match between Mara Sugar and Kenya Police FC is scheduled to take place on Sunday. Both teams will be vying for a spot in the semifinals, with Kenya Police aiming to defend their title and Mara Sugar seeking to continue their impressive cup run.

Fans can look forward to an exciting encounter as these two formidable teams clash in the next round of the FKF Cup.
