Arsenal Football Club has officially announced the signing of England international Noni Madueke from Chelsea, completing a long-term deal that marks the winger’s return to north London.
The 23-year-old arrives at the Emirates Stadium after two seasons at Stamford Bridge, where he made 92 appearances in all competitions. Known for his pace, flair, and powerful attacking play, Madueke becomes Mikel Arteta’s latest addition as Arsenal look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Madueke’s football journey began at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur, before he made a bold move to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in 2018. At just 17, he broke into PSV’s first team and went on to make 80 appearances, impressing with his direct style and technical skill.
He returned to the Premier League in January 2023 with a move to Chelsea, where he gained valuable top-flight and Champions League experience. On the international stage, Madueke has represented England at every youth level and made his senior debut in September 2024 against Finland, where he provided an assist. He has since earned seven caps for the Three Lions.
Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta praised the acquisition, calling it “an excellent deal” for a player who brings versatility and proven quality.
“Noni is a dynamic, versatile wide forward with strong technical ability who will significantly strengthen our squad,” said Berta. “His performance numbers and availability have been exceptional, and we know he will make a big impact at Arsenal.”
Manager Mikel Arteta echoed the excitement:
“Noni is an exciting and powerful young player. He’s one of the most talented wide forwards in the Premier League, and at just 23, he brings strong experience at both club and international level,” Arteta said. “He joins a group that includes several familiar England teammates, which will help him settle quickly. We’re all really excited to work with him.”
Madueke will wear the No. 20 shirt at Arsenal and is set to join the squad in early August after completing his Club World Cup commitments this summer. He is expected to link up with the team following their pre-season tour in Asia.
The deal is subject to the completion of standard regulatory processes.
