More than 310,000 students have been successfully placed in universities, TVET institutions, and teacher training colleges following the release of the 2025 KUCCPS placement results, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has announced.

Speaking on Tuesday, CS Ogamba confirmed that 310,502 students were placed across public and private higher learning institutions, marking a significant milestone in Kenya’s ongoing education reforms.

Out of 244,563 candidates who were eligible for degree programmes, 201,695 applied for placement. The majority were drawn from the 2024 KCSE cohort, which saw 962,512 candidates sit the national exams.
Of these, 246,391 scored a C+ or higher, the minimum university entry grade, representing 25.3% of the total candidates. From this qualified group, 194,372 were placed into degree courses.

Teacher Training Admissions

In teacher training colleges, 20,786 applications were received for diploma teaching courses.

  • 11,636 students were placed:
    • 10,800 into the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE)

A major highlight of the 2025 cycle is the introduction of a Diploma in Law by the Kenya School of Law, which offered 500 slots. All slots were filled due to high demand.

“A positive development was the introduction of the Kenya School of Law with a diploma. The law programme received overwhelming interest, and all slots were filled,” said CS Ogamba.
