Thousands of Kenyan youths now have a fresh opportunity to join government-sponsored technical training institutions as the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) reopens its application portal for the September 2025 TVET intake.
According to a notice issued by the placement agency, the portal will remain accessible from July 14 to July 31, 2025, allowing KCSE certificate holders from 2000 to 2024 to apply for placement into artisan, craft, and diploma programmes offered by accredited Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges across the country.
The move aligns with the government’s strategic objective to expand access to technical education and ensure full transition for KCSE graduates into post-secondary training pathways.
“This initiative is part of the efforts to equip more youths with hands-on skills to enable them to become self-reliant,” KUCCPS stated.
Entry Requirements and Waived Fees
The minimum entry qualifications for TVET programmes are:
- Grade E for Artisan Certificate (Level 4)
- Grade D for Craft Certificate (Level 5)
- Grade C– (minus) for Diploma (Level 6)
All applications must be submitted online via the KUCCPS Students’ Portal at students.kuccps.net, where detailed instructions and programme options are available.
In a major boost to accessibility, KUCCPS announced that no application fee will be charged for this intake round.
“The application fee has been fully waived to promote equal opportunity for all eligible students,” the statement added.
